Laine Rover

International Exchange Specialist, Smithsonian Office of Global Affairs

Laine Rover is the International Exchange Specialist in the Office of Global Affairs at the Smithsonian Institution. She works closely with Smithsonian units, foreign researchers and visitors, and external agencies to ensure the international group of individuals present at Smithsonian can continue their contributions in their respective fields. Smithsonian staff traveling outside of the United States for work can contact her to help navigate the passport and visa process. Laine has nearly 10 years of experience working with international stakeholders in both the public private sector. She holds an M.A. in European and Mediterranean Studies from New York University and has studied in Canada, France, Germany, and Poland. She speaks French and has forgotten all of the Italian and German she learned during her studies.
