Leroy Ignacio

President, South Rupununi Conservation Society

With a lifelong passion for protecting the environment in the Rupununi and throughout Guyana, Leroy Ignacio is the current president of the South Rupununi Conservation Society. He has been involved in red siskin research from the onset, starting with its discovery in Rupununi in 2000 by Smithsonian and University of Kansas researchers. He has been involved in tourism with Rupununi Trails and continues to guide many siskin-watching and other trips.
