Jennifer Harris Baxter

Jennifer Harris Baxter has been a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State since 2005, specializing in public and media engagement. Her previous overseas postings include Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, and Timor-Leste. At agency headquarters in Washington, D.C., she has worked in the Bureau of Public Affairs, the Office of Resources, Policy, and Planning for public diplomacy, and the Bureaus of European and of Sub-Saharan African Affairs. She also has a background in organization development and has worked for several years on agency management issues and change initiatives and as a professor at the American University of Rome's business department. Jennifer has her master's degree from the University of London's School of African and Oriental Studies in the study of religions. Her bachelor's degree, from Tufts University, is in photojournalism and international relations. She speaks French and Italian and has a small smattering of Portuguese, Indonesian, and Dari in the far reaches of her brain. She is originally from Denver, Colorado.
