Rebecca Wintering

Rebecca Wintering is on detail to the Smithsonian as the Special Diplomatic Advisor in the Office of Global Affairs. Rebecca has been a Foreign Affairs Officer in the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs at the U.S. Department of State since 2014, focusing on international sustainable fisheries management and marine conservation policy across a variety of international fora and bilateral relationships. Rebecca joined the State Department as a Presidential Management Fellow and has also served at the U.S. Mission to the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and in the Office of Natural Resources and Environment at the United States Trade Representative. Rebecca holds a Master of Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
