Lauren Appelbaum
Program Manager, Smithsonian Office of Global Affairs
Lauren Appelbaum is a Program Manager in the Office of Global Affairs at the Smithsonian Institution. She works on a variety of projects within the international cultural and museum sectors and has experience in conducting museum assessments, leading and facilitating workshops for museum professionals, developing curricula, and supporting proposal development. Prior to joining the Smithsonian, Lauren worked at cultural institutions in the DC area including National Trust for Historic Preservation, The Society of the Cincinnati, and International Arts and Artists’ Hillyer Art Space. Her work has focused on the care, preservation, and accessibility of museum collections for a wide range of audiences. Lauren received her BA from Emory University and her MA in Museum Studies from The George Washington University.
